Hand and Dove Pillow by Alexander Girard
A legendary 20th century artist and master of modern design, Alexander Girard – colorist, pattern maker, environmental and exhibition extraordinaire – adorned approachable, useful and functional media with his iconic patterns, bold colors and stylized charm. With folk art as his inspiration, Girard’s playful and expressive designs allowed him to head Herman Miller’s Textile Division and embark on high-profile independent projects. Staying true to Girard’s approach to functional art, we’ve taken his 1972 “Hand and Dove” design and applied it, using water-based pigments, to a textured, overstuffed woven pillow that’s finished with a hidden zipper at the bottom for easy cover removal. Lends a hand in adding vintage charm to any room!
