StoryJumper, Inc. has announced the official launch of storyjumper.com, a creative writing platform for kids. The web site features a free set of writing tools and tutorials, as well as a library of artwork that lets children illustrate their stories with just a few clicks. Kids can share their books with friends and family online, and order professionally printed hardback copies. To help kids get started, the site uses a proprietary creative writing flow, known as the “StoryStarter” process. StoryStarter poses a series of thought provoking, whimsical questions that help a child develop a story line. Tests show that StoryStarter significantly reduces writer’s block and enables children to create complete stories with little or no additional help. The storyjumper.com website is now available for school and home use. The company is currently working on a version for Apple Computer’s up-coming iPad device.
